Don’t let the winter chill numb your brain when it comes to planning a date. It’s obvious that your partner is going to get bored with the usual dinner or coffee dates. The weather is not helping either. Come up with an offbeat date plan to motivate your partner to slip into that pullover or jacket and step out of bed for a date with you, or try these: 1. Street food crawl: Skip those fancy dinners and dine out on the streets. Winter is the time to enjoy hot aloo tikkis, kathi kebabs and piping hot Indian sweets. Gear up in comfortable boots and a jacket and try out the famous eat-outs in your city. Don’t forget to carry a water bottle or buy packaged water. It’s easy on the pocket and will be a delight seeing your partner have a foodgasm. 2. Organise a game night: These are fun even if it is just the two of you, because that way you can go wild with your punishments or the prize the winner gets. Play poker, UNO, carom, scrabble, Pictionary, monopoly or even snakes and ladders. The list is endless and game nights are super fun. Try it this winter if you haven’t already. And yes, don’t forget the munchies and some hot chocolate. 3. Go to a bookstore: The warmth bookstores exuberate is unmatched. Walk into a bookstore and go through each of your favourites one by one. You can even discuss what you like about the book and how you relate to it. It’s a great way to dig deeper and know each other a little better. Don’t forget to buy something or the storekeeper is not going to be very happy with you! 4. Go on a tea drinking trail: Have you travelled an hour to have a cup of coffee or tea at a small stall, amidst greenery or near a lake? Ditch the popular modern cafes and go to a distant tea stall just for a cup of tea. You can even visit the tea stall outside your college if you and your partner belonged to the same one. This is one date that will definitely get you lot of attention on social media along with the lovely memories to bring back. 5. Make a scrapbook together: Ask your partner to get their childhood pictures and you collect yours. Get some pictures of you two and a colourful blank scrapbook, colour pens and stickers. Spend the day making a beautiful scrapbook. You can even have your handprints on it and write messages for each other. This book will be your treasure for life. 6. Go camping: While solo camping may not be very safe in India, there are several groups that make the arrangements for you in safe, yet scenic locales. All you need to do is book a tent or carry yours and a fireplace and food will be arranged. Spend a chilly evening in the woods snuggled up with your partner and fall in love all over again. 7. Movie marathon: Getting coy and watching movies at home with a tub of popcorn is so yesterday. What is better is a movie marathon at a multiplex. Watch back to back movies at a multiplex and experience a different high. Hop from one screen to another to reach in time for the show. It will be one of a kind date and you won’t have to make your own popcorn or nachos. Just order it. 8. Barbeque in the balcony: All you need is a small barbeque, some coal and marinated meats or veggies. You can do the pre-preparations together or your partner can get the ingredients ready while you light up the barbeque and get the balcony or terrace ready. The best part is, you don’t have to dress up for this one. Just throw in a mattress or some floor cushions and enjoy your partner..oops we meant the food. Image Source: Shutterstock
